Twisted Love by Ana Huang
Publication Date: April 29, 2021
Plot: He has a heart of ice...but for her, he'd burn the world. Alex Volkov is a devil blessed with the face of an angel and cursed with a past he can’t escape. Driven by a tragedy that has haunted him for most of his life, his ruthless pursuits for success and vengeance leave little room for matters of the heart. But when he’s forced to look after his best friend’s sister, he starts to feel something in his chest:
A crack. A melt. A fire that could end his world as he knew it.
Ava Chen is a free spirit trapped by nightmares of a childhood she can’t remember. But despite her broken past, she’s never stopped seeing the beauty in the world…including the heart beneath the icy exterior of a man she shouldn’t want.
Her brother’s best friend.
Her neighbor.
Her savior and her downfall.
Theirs is a love that was never supposed to happen—but when it does, it unleashes secrets that could destroy them both…and everything they hold dear.

MY THOUGHTS:
This one was a romance book lover’s dream choice for a series! A little spicier than my normal book pics, but I loved reading Ava and Alex’s forbidden story unfold. Honestly, this is an AMAZING first book to start off the Twisted series. I am in awe of how Ana Huang was able to suck me in with this story!! I flew through this book. The banter between Ava and Alex was to die for! Their relationship from the first page to the last had me in a chokehold and their growth both as a couple and individually was absolutely beautiful. I am a huge sucker for the “touch her and I’ll unalive you” trope and this book was full of that and so much more.
Alex Volkov, oh. em. gee. WOW, what a man! He quickly became one of my newest book boyfriends from the moment he told Ava to get into the car within the first couple of pages. I love the brother's best friend and the grumpy/sunshine tropes, so I liked how their relationship comes about. He’s a brilliantly written character.
And Ava, oh my, I want to give her a hug and shield her from the world's darkness. She battles through so much internally throughout the book and seeing her develop and conquer her fears was so abundantly beautiful that I was proud for her!! I love her relationship with her friends and how passionate she is. I am loving how Ana Huang writes friendship dynamics. Each woman has such a unique personality that really shines through even in the short time I’ve spent with them. I can’t wait to learn more about each woman in the next 3 books.
The spice in this book… off. the. charts. I loved it, SO well written. Everything was SO GOOD. The character development, the plot, the spice, the banter, the angst, the plot twists! Overall, I love Twisted Love, and I could not recommend it enough. If you haven’t read this yet, please do! You won’t regret it! Now excuse me while I go read everything Ana Huang has ever written.
