MY THOUGHTS:
When I started this one, I honestly didn’t think I could love any Colleen Hoover book better than It Ends with Us or Ugly Love, but MAN. This one might be my fave of all. This one got me in allllll my feels. A MUST READ!
Colleen Hoover, how do you write these books? This book had me in literal tears, I was not expecting the plot twist, I knew there would be something but not that. Another amazing book. I think the whole aspect of meeting up on November 9th every year, the date of Fallon’s horrific accident that left her an empty shell, was such a cute idea and I loved the no contact idea, until I didn’t. (But I think that was the whole idea.)
This book for me was equal parts uplifting, heartbreaking, and frustrating. Every time Ben and Fallon came close to really making it work something came between them, but knowing how Ben truly came to know Fallon, I think it was the universe not allowing them to be together until there were no secrets left. I went into this blind not really knowing what to expect and I would fully recommend anyone else considering reading to do the same. I loved how fast-paced it was, but the plot still allowed you to get to know the characters enough to fully form an emotional bond with them.
The whole idea of dating your brothers fiancé after he dies, is a complete no no but Ben did it anyway (of course), right after Fallon walked out of his life because she realized he was rushing into decisions because of grief (love you for that Fallon). The plot twist at the end really got me it really was an assault from all angles. You not only get the origin of Ben and Fallon’s relationship (*Spoiler* it isn’t at the restaurant with her dad), but you also get Ben’s heart-breaking family background.
November 9 was cute, heart-wrenching, and made me unable to put it down. In true CoHo fashion, she added some twists and it made for the perfect ending.
